    The Aromacocoon, attached to the Musée des Aromes & du Parfum just outside Maillane, specialises in reflexology and all different kinds of massage - aromatherapy, shiatsu, Californian, ayurvedic, 4 hands - in a soothing Zen environment. It's an unusual location at the end of bumpy rural track but don't be put off. Inside it is wonderfully calming and the masseurs really know their stuff. Highly recommended.

    Open 7 days a week and because it is still a little known secret you can generally get appointments at short notice.

    Next to the Cabro d'Or hotel in the Les Baux valley, this gorgeous spa is a welcome addition to the fabulous Baumaniére estate. One-off use of the gym, hammam and bassin sensoriel costs an eyewatering 45€, more if you want to enlist the help of a personal trainer. The carte de soins includes massage, facials, body wraps, beauty treatments (waxing, mani/pedi, tints etc). For a treat however it is worth the inflated prices for the stunning surroundings.

    St Rémy's new day spa offers hammam & gommage (body scrub), massage, body wraps, facials, yoga, pilates, reiki, as well as waxing, manicures and pedicures: as it says at the entrance, a real espace de bien'etre.
